Your Brand is Your Road

Six people watched and followed us down the wrong road. Make sure the same thing isn’t happening to your brand.

Here’s the story.

Roderick Kelly and I hike. There we were, exploring a new forest preserve path and, as we were walking, we noticed the route was rather . . . straight . . . bounded by what looked like a railroad track.

The sun poured like rain. We were explorers, after all. So we walked.

Glancing back, there were four joggers chattering away behind us. Surely they must know this path. There’s got to be more to it.

We all met up at the railroad track a few yards away. It was indeed the end. They said they thought we knew the way. Then two bikers joined the peanut gallery. Then we all turned around.

People are always watching your #brand. They follow it like a North Star. People you may never meet. Lead them to something remarkable. #Marketing has the power of building great brands throughout the entire customer journey.

Otherwise, it’s just meandering with a dead end and a memory on a sun-filled Sunday afternoon.
